Top Known Viruses
Known viruses are malicious executable files that have been submitted by end users and confirmed by the Websense Security Labs as being dangerous. Blocking these known malicious files at the gateway provides an extra line of defense and greatly relieves the burden imposed on traditional endpoint anti-virus software.
These files are usually identified and blocked by traditional endpoint anti-virus packages although coverage is dependent on the update interval provided by the individual vendor. Websense security products are updated in real time by the ThreatSeeker network as soon as the virus-infected file is confirmed to be malicious.
