Websense Researchers presenting at a conference near you

09.24.2008 - 2:15 PM

In the next two weeks, a few of us are speaking at various conferences in North America. I want to let everyone know so that hopefully, if you're interested in the work we've been doing and the blogs we've written, we can meet up to discuss them.

VB2008 takes place October 1-3 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

Nicolas Brulez will present next week at Virus Bulletin. Nico's doing a presentation titled "malicious packer dissected". As always Nico will present his findings on some of the latest and greatest technologies in "in the wild" packers and how to unpack them. Here is the the full schedule.

Toorcon X takes place September 26-28 in San Diego, California, U.S.A.

Dan Hubbard and Stephan Chenette (me) will be presenting. Toorcon X is hosted in downtown San Diego (very close to the U.S. offices of Websense Security Labs). Dan's presentation is titled "P0wn the Cloud. The good, the bad, and the pugly of Cloud Computing". Mine is titled "Ultimate Script Deobfuscation: Browser Hooking versus simulation". Just as the title indicates, I'm talking about script deobfuscation. I'll share some sample code as part of my presentation.

If you're considering attending, here is the full schedule.

I also want to mention that we have two research positions open for our U.S. location. One security research intern position, and one full-time research position. We always love working with good researchers and we want only the best, most interested individuals on our team. If you're attending the conference and would like to be considered for a position, bring your resume and some code samples, or simply email them to me.
