Peking University Web Site in China Compromised

Threat Type: Malicious Web Site / Malicious Code

Websense® Security Labs™ ThreatSeeker™ Network has discovered that a subdomain of the official site of Peking University, one of the most famous and highly-reputed universities in China, has been compromised with malicious code. The Web site has been injected with JavaScript embedded in a a number of malicious Iframes, leading to exploits such as Microsoft AdoDB / XML HTTP (MS06-014), RealPlayer, Thunder Xunlei, and Global Link Lianzong.

At this time, the site is still infected with malicious code.

Not long ago, we issued an alert on an attack compromising another University site with the offical site of Howard University alert. We shall continue monitoring these kinds of attacks.
