Threat Type: Phishing Alert

Websense® Security Labs™ has received reports of a phishing attack that targets customers of Western Security Bank. Users receive a spoofed email message claiming that new server equipment has been installed at the Bank, and that users must update their records. The email provides a link to a phishing site that attempts to collect user account information.

This phishing site is hosted in the United States and was down at the time of this alert.

At Western Security Bank, we are very much concerned about the credibility and efficiency of our online banking system. In doing this, we annually renew and upgrade our equipments to ensure maximum efficiency of our banking activities.

We are presently working on our Secure servers to protect our online customers from online Fraud. More so, we have improved our banking system with up-to-date machineries to fast and easy access to your accounts.

We now need you to Update your records by clicking on our secure link < URL REMOVED > as soon as possible to prevent you from having problems logging into your account in the future as these upgrades might affect your security settings.

We are very sorry for the inconveniencies we might be causing you, but remember that your security is our greatest priority.
