Threat Type: Phishing Alert

Websense® Security Labs™ has received reports of a phishing attack that targets customers of Virtual Money. Users receive a spoofed email message claiming that during routine checks on SSL transactions, different suspicious login attempts were detected, and access to the account has been restricted. The email provides a link to a phishing site that attempts to collect the user's account information.

This phishing site is hosted in Germany and was up at the time of this alert.

Phishing email text:

Dear Valued Customers,

 At Virtual Money INC,we make the security of our online banking user our greatest priority. In doing this, we randomly and   periodically review transaction made via our SSL servers.

 While reviewing your account information, we noticed several login attempts on your account and have placed your account on restricted status. You will be able to receive payments in your account, but you ability to send or withdraw funds will definitely not be possible.

 You are advised to logon to your account via < URL REMOVED > to update your account information in order to regain full access to your account information.

 Thank you for making Virtual Money Inc. your preferred home for internet banking.
